Barbara Herzog, MA, NCC
Career consultant Barbara Herzog helps clients clarify their goals, find satisfying jobs and resolve career concerns. She also speaks to groups about career exploration and change, assessment, job targeting, networking, interview preparation, salary negotiation and job advancement. In addition, Barbara Herzog is a contributor to The Washington Post and Fortune magazine.

Ms. Herzog has more than 15 years of mid-level management experience, including interviewing, salary negotiation and hiring, as well as staff development. As a manager at AARP, she was awarded the Association's top award for her coaching skills.

Ms. Herzog has had government and international experience at the U.S. Department of State. She holds a Ph.D. in international relations from John Hopkins University, an M.A. in career counseling from George Washington University and an NCC certification from the National Board of Certified Counselors.

In addition to her private practice, Ms. Herzog is a certified associate with outplacement firm Lee Hecht Harrison, where she teaches classes and coaches individuals who have lost their jobs through downsizing. She is also certified by the Five O'Clock Club, a national job search strategy group. Ms. Herzog serves the career community through membership or office in the Association of Career Professionals International, Career Masters Institute and the Metropolitan Career/Life Planning Network.
